The Friday Five
Back from the Desert
What a fantastic week it's been at HD Expo in Las Vegas! It was an honor to share meals, explore the show floor, and enjoy various events around town with many of you. And yes, I even had some luck at the blackjack tables. Hooray! Let's dive into today's "Friday Five."
The Five
This Week's Feature: I had the unique opportunity to meet with HP, CEO of Olson Kundig, during a dinner in Los Angeles a few months back. His journey is nothing short of inspiring, having summited the highest peaks on all seven continents. Our discussions were profoundly impactful, particularly about showing up with intention in everything we do. I was fortunate to share breakfast with him this past Wednesday in Las Vegas—a first for me and hopefully not the last. Tune in to gain insights into living with intent.
Memory Lane: I'm returning to this part of Episode #001, where Bashar Wali shares why we must have people at the center of Hospitality. This link will take you right there.
A Dash of Inspiration: Working with Tribu at Agency 967 has introduced me to "discreet luxury." Reflecting on my recent time in the stark yet beautiful desert of Las Vegas, this theme feels particularly resonant. I hope this image strikes a chord with you as well.
Journey Shorteners: Have you ever wanted to master stress-free productivity? In 2008 I discovered a book that revolutionized my approach to systems and processes, significantly enhancing my creative output. It could change your life, too. I re-read this book every few years, if you haven’t read it, give it a shot.
Upcoming Industry Events: Heading to the NYU Lodging Conference in June? Let's connect! Reply to this email, and let's plan a dinner or meet-up.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
Kindly,Dan
